Kelly Clarkson in her full Kelly Brianne Clarkson was an American singer and songwriter who gained fame when she took home American Idol's 2002 talent competition. Clarkson was raised within Burleson Texas (a suburban area within Fort Worth), where her talents in singing were initially noticed by her seventh grade class teacher. Clarkson dropped out of high school to go in Los Angeles where she failed to succeed in the entertainment industry. She was picked to participate for the Fox Broadcasting Company's American Idol singing competition, giving viewers the chance to vote for their preferred performer. Clarkson's charismatic voiceand charisma and humor won over viewers. Clarkson's prize was $1million and a recording deal with RCA.
