Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media critic for more than 20 years. She is also a seasoned public speech writer. Feminist Frequency is a channel that hosts videos, commentaries and analysis of how popular culture depicts women. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning feminist journalist from Canada and a blogger. Feminist Frequency is a non-for profit site for education that investigates the representation of women in pop cultural narratives is founded and is directed by Sarkeesian. Alongside working to highlight the problems surrounding the targeted and sexist attack on women and as well as other minorities, she is dedicated to breaking down stereotypes that are prevalent in popular culture. Holding a master's degree in political and social thought from York University Sarkeesian is also an extremely sought-after public speaking engagement and has given speeches at TEDxWomen XOXO Festival and The United Nations' Broadband Working Group on Gender. As a university student Sarkeesian was concerned about issues related to gender and rights for women at an early stage. The determined lady had planned to launch a web series that would examine the gender roles in video games. However, she was the subject of a harassment online campaign. The attack did be a deterrent, but it was a boost to her determination to be a feminist media critic. Her notable contributions to the field of feminists are recognized with numerous awards. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award winning journalist. She was also the creator and director of Feminist Frequency an educational non-profit group that focuses on pop-culture representations of females.
